ISP Upgrade

Hi guys,

ISP upgrade is going to happen on Wednesday (15/10/2008). When that happens, server will be offline as well as the registration page but the forum will still be online.

I can't say how long it will be down for, if I'm lucky, 3 days online, if I'm unlucky it could be 10-14 working days, The average is around 7 working days..

I'll take the opportunity to do several things in the background while the server is offline, I'll let you all know when the server is back online..

Any concerns, etc please post it here..

Hopefully so, I can't guarantee anything but in theory I should have at least 3x more upload bandwith so again in theory we shouldn't have anymore lag in kara..

Please comment on the new connection in this topic, I would like to know whether it has improved, the same, or worse in terms of lag, etc..

OK tested....dunno..i feel a bit slow, even using 768k connection...maybe my connection is having problem or yours is still unstable...have to check in another 2 days or so....

Upgrading to ADSL2+ is about capacity so we can take more people without killing the connection. It's not necessarily about speed/less latency. So as long as the latency is acceptable (below 900 ms) you should be ok for raiding..

To have a more accurate feel, do a 5 man run in various instances. If everything is ok, do a Karazhan even with 5 man, let me know if everyone is ok with the latency then we can do regular Karazhan run..

Well, I tested with Reeree, Gauu, and Sielas last night..I had red latency though i had 680 ms...Sielas, reeree, and gauu's connection suddenly jumps and had 3k latency...i'll check it again today

Which instance did you try? When you said suddenly jumps, what do you mean? It jumps immediately when you guys are in the same map/screen or only for a particular encounter like bosses?

Ok, I've done some testing with upload and download speed. I can confirm that now I have 3x more capacity than the old one. I need to see what sort of traffic Karazhan raiding can generate so I need to do Karazhan run with maximum people while I monitor bandwith usage..

If it's still laggy then maybe either the core is not good or your ISP sucks hehehehehe
