Important: Cleaning up your cache after every DB update
Hi guys,
It is important to delete your WDB whenever there is a core and database update. That way you make sure that you received the most current data from the server.
Deleting WDB folder will not affect you add-on settings - AFAIK, deleting WTF folder, will. So delete your WDB folder, but not the WTF.
The WDB folder should be located under your WoW installation folder, for example, C:\Program Files\World of Warcraft\Cache\WDB
Cheers

Re: Important: Cleaning up your cache after every DB update
To illustrate what I mean, I have created wdb_cleaner.bat and give this a WoW icon, the content of the batch file is as follow,
--------------------------------
@echo off
echo y | rd /s "Cache"
start "" WoW.exe
exit
--------------------------------
What it does is quite simple, remove "Cache" directory everytime I start WoW. This in effect deletes C:\Program Files\World of Warcraft_PS\Cache folder. Inside the cache folder there is another subfolder called WDB which automatically gets deleted.
You don't have to do this everytime you start WoW, just delete the WDB subfolder whenever I do a core or database update which happens only once a week..
Cheers

That's right, if you're unsure which folder to delete, ask first

By deleting the folder you'll delete the content too the WDB subfolder will get created automatically everytime you started WoW.exe anyway. So to be on the safe side, the delete the folder to make sure you don't miss out on anything..

Err... i still having an error msg. Just before i got to Borean Tundra (from SW's ship).
I have delete Cache, WDB folder and even WTF folder....
Whenever i got my toon on the ship, just a little meters before reaching the northend, I got error msg (yeah, still in the sea).
When I log in again, i'm drowning in the sea... if I move an inch, I got the same error msg. If I stay... suddenly I'm being teleported back to my save point.

Next time please post this kind of thing in the non-specific class bug report.. This is not related to the topic. As for your specific issue, I think you can try reinstalling WOTLK from proper DVD or get to Northrend from another point. Maybe from Howling Fjord?
