Server Down

Server is down as of now...

hey what happen to the server? no news whatsoever?

This morning when I wake up server is fine, can you try now and tell how it goes?

Ok, my apologies for the server down. I found out what the problem was, the domain used for realmlist.wtf (blackcatps.game-host.org) is hosted by DynDNS service and every month I have to renew it. This month I forgot to do that so when the domain name disappear, you guys cannot connect. I have renewed the account so everything should be back to normal

I'll organise a more permanent place when I have a moment but I have to change the domain name to something else.. I'll give notice to all places where I post the ads when that happens.. Most likely when we change to 2.4..

Server is up now. It crashed but didn't automatically reboot since there was an error message to be acknowledged.. I think this is because amaterasu is trying to solo Hyjal..

P.S: Actually he did solo Hyjal and downed 2 bosses, got T6 gloves too .... that bastard, nerf Rogue!!

Sorry, the server must've crashed >_< can't do anything about it until I get home which should be about 2-3 hours.. sorry guys..

I'll try to install remote connection software so I can reboot the server remotely..

Server is up... this the 2nd crashes this week. When it happens again could you guys please post here what you were doing exactly, what spell you used, etc.. I need to know what causing the crash..

Server's down since a few hrs ago.

We're all stuck in character retrieving screen, those you see in various locations in http://forums.icatcomputing.com.au/wowps
are actually stranded toons.

Nobody can get inside the server now.

If there is a limit, a queue box will come up.

Just want to let you all know that I'm aware of the server "hanging". On the console, the server doesn't crash and still a valid running program according to windows. However, when I entered a command into the console, it doesn't respond. This lead me to believe that somehow a piece of code went into endless loop or try to do something but it didn't work, etc. So it's a core issue.

I would like to know what happened when the server "hung", what I would like to know are these,
- What time the server "hung"?
- How many people was online?
- I noticed that last night you guys had huge lags before this happened. Was it always preceeded with huge lag?
- Was there anyone using hack tools or any kind of 3rd party tools?
- Was there anyone in an instance/area where it hasn't been tested throughly (for example, Hyjal, Black Temple).
- Was there a specific spell or skill that you use before it stuck. Was it always that specific spell?
- Did you install any new add-ons? For the time being, please remove all add-ons when playing in the server and see whether that improved the stability or not. Officers please kindly help me to tell other users to disable their add-ons for the time being to see whether it improves stability or not.

When I have a chance I'll try to setup a page to do kill the server remotely. Access will be given to a few people to help me restart the server when I'm not around. I'm considering reinstalling the DB server if this persist.

Strange, i can't login. The warning message says that

"unable to validate game version. This may be caused by file coruption or ... "

we are still using 2.4.1 right?

Check the server update log thread, we're on 2.4.2 now
